Day Habilitation Services
Day Habilitation Services offers opportunities for our clients to engage in meaningful, functional activities in a safe, therapeutic environment with Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) trained in evidence-based practices. Itineris partners with local organizations and businesses in the Baltimore metro area for trial site opportunities, informational interviews, internships or community engagement. Clients practice and engage in a variety of skill development activities such as:
Community Development Services
Community Development Services offers opportunities for clients to engage in the life of their communities with the support of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). Some examples of community-based activities completed during this service include:
· Internships (paid and unpaid) in the Baltimore metro area
· Travel training: practice using public transportation, rideshare apps, and more ways to getting around our communities
· Money management: use naturally occurring learning opportunities to practice budgeting, managing spending, etc.
· Social networking: building and strengthening relationships with community members
· Community Life: participate in local community events, social groups and clubs, use memberships to gyms, libraries, and other membership-based activities, and engage in community-based recreational activities such as going to see a movie and visiting museums
· Self-Advocacy and Self Determination: use naturally occurring opportunities to live a life with more autonomy, to practice making decisions, problem solving, and to make a plan and execute plan
This program is recommended for those who:
- Interested in receiving services in the community
- Enjoy spending 4-6 hours at a time engaged in community-based activities
- Are open and willing to receive services with small group activities unless they have 1-1 support
